Workshop on Data Visualisation for Beginners
This workshop aims to develop participants’ ability to think creatively about data, critically assess how data is presented in contemporary research, and create their own visualisations following best practices. While there are numerous courses focusing on a particular software and its capabilities, this workshop takes a different approach. We think of data visualisation as a communication tool that only serves its purpose if it aids the audience’s understanding of your message. While basic software skills will be taught during the workshop, the main emphasis will be on higher-level thinking to identify different ways of presenting data in relation to your aims.
