Analysing qualitative data involves several procedures from discovering and identifying themes, narrowing themes to a manageable few, building hierarchies of themes and finally, linking themes into theoretical models. Thematic categories are the stuff of qualitative matter. Investigators use themes to describe, compare, and explain social phenomena.

The workshop will take participants through each step of transforming empirical data into relevant themes through a systematic process underpinned by current developments in the field of thematic analysis. It will deliver instructional and group-based activities over a period of 2 days
