Palliative Care Course for Therapists

OVERVIEW

This aim of this brand new course is to enhance the preparedness of therapists to practise palliative care in their respective work settings. The plan is to launch the course in July-Aug 2019! The target audience is therapists in the start of their practice in palliative care, or interested to do so in the future. Preliminary topics include (but is not limited to ) clinical overview of common life limiting illnesses, serious illness communication, basic symptom management, role of PT/OT/ST in management of patients with progressive life limiting illness and integration of these therapies into the holistic management of such patients. More details will be confirmed in due course.

The course will be a blended learning course - a combination of face-to-face learning and e-learning. The e-learning will be delivered via the Duke-NUS Learning Management System. The course curriculum will be designed and delivered by experienced therapists and palliative care practitioners.
