Palliative Care Course for Pharmacists (Basic)

OVERVIEW

This is a basic certificate course, designed especially for pre-registration level pharmacists. It covers the foundational principles and practice of palliative care. The trainers in this course consist of experienced pharmacists and doctors, who share foundational palliative care knowledge through engaging mini-presentations and discussions. The aim is to build professional competency and confidence in pre-registration pharmacists, by equipping them with the necessary knowledge to work with patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses.

This is a blended learning course where participants will be able to access mini-presentations, assessments, video clips and case vignettes via a web-based learning management system. The self-study done online will be supplemented by an interactive face-to-face session.

This certificate course has been included in the pre-registration program as a mandatory module for incoming pharmacists since 2016.
