Palliative Care Course for Pharmacists
OVERVIEW
This is a comprehensive certificate course, designed especially for in-service pharmacists. It comprises two parts; Part 1 covers the foundational principles and practice of palliative care while Part 2 moves on to advanced-level topics.
The trainers in this course consist of experienced pharmacists, doctors and social workers, who will share palliative care knowledge and experiences through engaging mini-presentations and case discussions. The aim of this course is to build professional competency and confidence of the pharmacists by equipping them with the necessary knowledge to work with patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses.
This is a blended learning course where participants will be able to access mini-presentations, assessments and video clips via a web-based learning management system. The self-study done online will be supplemented by site attachments and a total of three interactive face-to-face sessions.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION Course participants will be awarded a certificate of completion at the end of the course if they complete all the online assessments, site attachments and attend the face-to-face sessions. |

TARGET AUDIENCE
In-service level pharmacists who are interested in learning more about the principles and practice of palliative care.
Priority will be given to pharmacists who are working in settings with predominantly life-limiting illnesses.
PREREQUISITESA registered pharmacist with Singapore Pharmacy Council At least 2 years of work experience in patient care sector and ability to commit to the entire course
