OVERVIEW
The Myopia Online Course is curated and divided into 3 different levels - Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced, with 3 modules within each level. This allows all learners to build a strong foundation of understanding before augmenting their knowledge with subsequent modules, according to their needs.

The Myopia Online Course is specially crafted to suit learners of varying levels with basic, intermediate and advanced sections. It was created to allow for modular learning to fit busy schedules so that each individual can learn at their own pace.
Basic Level covers basic concepts about myopia

Course fee: SGD 200 (before 9% GST)
Intermediate Level covers interventions and investigations for myopic patients
Course fee: SGD 270 (before 9% GST)
Advanced Level delves into real clinical cases and applications of principles through the practitioners’ own practice cases
Course fee: SGD 340 (before 9% GST)
Learning Objectives
  • Eye anatomy and how the components of the eye influence refractive error
  • The different forms of myopia
  • The environmental and genetic associations of myopia
  • How lifestyle changes can help to modify myopia risk
  • How and why myopia prevalence differs across the world
  • What roles different people could play in preventing the onset of myopia in the communities, so as to minimize the impact of myopia in the future.
Learning Objectives
  • Latest up-to-date evidence on the various childhood myopia control modalities including environmental, pharmacological, optical and light interventions
  • Patient suitability for each type of myopia control modalities
  • Deeper insight into targeted history taking, physical examination and investigations to tailor practitioners’ clinical management
  • Interpretation of investigation results such as axial length, optical coherence tomography
  • Integration of investigation results into practitioners’ management plan

Our short course assessment segments were developed with a pedagogy expert to ensure that you can detect gaps in your knowledge while applying the knowledge gained throughout the course. End-of-module quizzes will help you gauge your understanding as you progress through the course.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registration for this pilot run is on a first-come-first-serve basis up to 150 participants or until registration closing date on 12 May 2024. Those who are interested to sign up for the full course (3 levels) will get a discounted price.

3 CPE points will be awarded by the Optometrists and Opticianry Board (OOB) upon completion of every level.

For Overseas Participants
Certificate(s) issued can be submitted to relevant statutory body for CPE points.

Singapore Ophthalmologists and clinicians can register with SMC under self-study under category for CME points and CME points will be up to SMC’s discretion.
