Course Outline
- Causal inference landscape: key concepts, traditions, and methods
- Counterfactual and potential outcomes framework
- Causal diagrams (DAGs): confounders, mediators, colliders, and adjustment
- Regression from a DAG perspective: good vs. bad controls
- Propensity Score Matching (PSM) and Inverse Probability Weighting (IPW)
- Longitudinal causal inference: time-varying confounding, IPW, and marginal structural models
- Target trial thinking and other advanced causal inference methods
- Learning by doing: real-world data, interactive discussions, and a research clinic using your own research question
